Stamp of Perfection

Stampcrete continues to make lasting mark on the world of decorative paving

Many can follow, but only a few can lead. P. Michael Fennessy, who owns U.S. patents on how his stamping equipment is manufactured, has continually made an indelible mark on the decorative paving industry for more than 40 years.

His experience goes beyond the commercial arena. P. Michael is the inventor of the American With Disabilities’ Act stamps that are used to create truncated domes on transit platforms and curb cuts on walk ways.

These truncated domes are textured ground surface indicators found on many footpaths, stairs and train station platforms to assist blind and visually impaired pedestrians.

This is a federal regulation under the ADA that President George H.W. Bush signed into law in 1991. In addition, Fennessy has developed the stamping equipment used on the largest theme parks in locations such as Florida and Paris.

P. Michael has paid his dues when it comes to the concrete resurfacing industry. He started his career back in 1956 while working on the “8th Wonder of the World,” The St. Lawrence Seaway project.

The project took five years and several lives to build. P. Michael worked as concrete foreman on a project that would transform trade forever for the Great Lakes Region.

Fennessy is regarded as a creative genius in the world of decorative paving. He developed the master molds for all 50 different stamping designs sold by his company.

P. Michael is not just a businessman; he is an innovator.

He owns the trademarks True Lasting Colors, Mirage, Re-Do-It, Logocrete and Re-Deck in the United States with first use rights globally. His Mirage overlay resurfacing system has revolutionized the decorative resurfacing world by turning old, unsightly concrete into eye-pleasing beauty.

Also showcased in Fennessy’s repertoire is his Re-Do-It concrete resurfacing system that features a decorative thin coat material for revitalizing drab concrete surfaces.

Fennessy has four trademarks, including his newly flourishing Re-Deck-It subsidiary, along with two patents involving Stampcrete processes. P. Michael is confident in assuring customers of the highest-quality materials along with state-of-the-art precision stamping tools made in and unmatched in America.

P. Michael’s business beginnings were humble. He started Stampcrete International, Ltd. out of his house with the support of his wife Karen, one computer, and a 1-800-phone line. Today, he has three commercial buildings prospering from his Liverpool, N.Y. location.

Fennessy is non-stop when it comes to devoting himself to his business. When not in his office, he is busy working with one of his dealers or in the factory delving into research and development. His passion and work ethic is evident just by looking at his schedule: The workday begins at 5:30 a.m. and ends around 8 p.m., seven days a week.

Stampcrete, headquartered in Upstate New York, has indeed taken the world by storm. The Stampcrete trademark is filed in 46 countries around the globe. In an age when exporting is being encouraged, P. Michael recently shipped numerous containers of equipment and materials to Jordan and Ghana. Over the past 20 years, he has shipped orders to 30 different countries.

In addition, Stampcrete is featuring new marketing aids for 2013 and is offering exclusive dealerships including the bronze, silver and gold levels of commitment for dealers. These are comprehensive business opportunities that feature a marketing plan designed to generate profitable job leads.

Fennessy notes that many of his competitors focus solely on selling equipment and miss the mark when it comes to establishing actual job opportunities for clients. Meanwhile, Stampcrete is enhancing its presence online with a recently redesigned website at www.stampcrete.com.

Today is an age when consumers are glued to their computer screens surfing the Internet for the best deal. Stampcrete’s all-new website is not only user friendly but regarded as tops in the industry. The informative website will link customers with an authorized, professional Stampcrete dealer in their area.

P. Michael has devoted his professional career to being number one, relegating runner-up status to those who just can’t make the cut. When most companies simply take dares, Stampcrete actually cares.
